Pearl by Louise Mertens, further polished by Buroform
Purity, minimalism and futurism are three words central to Louise Mertens’ work. Her design for PR agency Diamonds & Pearls Communications also demonstrates a particular sense of finesse and fragility. The printing follows that line by subtly playing off two different papers against each other, with blind embossing as the jewel in the crown.
Diamonds & Pearls Communications is an Antwerp-based PR agency specializing in food, drinks, art, entertainment and travel. That sense of the finer things in life Louise Mertens captured beautifully in the design of the logo and corporate identity. She designed a very sober and serene identity that perfectly conveys the message. Our work lay in further finalizing the name and business cards and envelopes. An understated but luxurious look-and-feel was the request, so we chose two contrasting papers that harmonize very nicely.

Keaykolour Sequoia and Curious Collection Skin Grey are very diverse.
Both, in their own way, do pleasure to fingertips and eyes. We glued them together invisibly, making each side of the name and business cards evoke a different feeling. The first is 100 percent recycled paper with a very natural texture. The second, in turn, is known for its matte visual effect and sensual “touch. The logo was applied transparently on the back with blind embossing and gently sinks into the paper. On the front, it appears more prominently by applying PMS printing in vibrant olive green.
