Concrete Factory Coeck

Anniversary book

90 years of Coeck?
That deserves an anniversary book

In 2019, Ludo Coeck turned 65, his company Betonafbriek Coeck 90. So reason to celebrate, and that happened with a comprehensive anniversary book that beautifully charts the company’s history and most important achievements. Photographer
Tom D’Haenens
worked closely on the project and provided the images; we forged info and photos into an exclusive reference work.

Tactile hardcover

A book like this does not sit away in closets, but shows off on coffee tables. It is almost an interior object in itself. The hardcover consists of gray cardboard covered with Buckram Graphite, a tactile material that gives the book a very delicate look. At the front, the logo was gravure-printed, adding some extra finesse. In turn, white text at the back provides a subtle contrast to the dark paper.

Paper represents past and present

Briefly, the book falls into two parts: the company history and an extensive selection of reference projects. That theme is also emphasized by the printed matter. The first 72 pages translate corporate history on aged gray paper, thus visually linking it to the past. The switch to the present is made using Superset white paper, a modern variation and the perfect basis for beautifully portraying key realizations!
