In the heart of Lier, you’ll find Numerus Clausus. Chef Steven Persyn leads with his classic French cuisine, while his wife Annelies warmly welcomes guests, many of whom have been loyal visitors for decades. Thanks in part to its well-priced market menu, the restaurant has earned the lasting trust of its patrons, while the à la carte selection continues to offer a fine array of timeless classics.
Liza and Anna, the two grandmothers who passed on their love of good food, hospitality and warmth to chef Levy De Beucker and hostess Stephanie Iserbiet, inspired the creation of Lizanna. This homely restaurant, which earned two chef’s hats last year, continues to impress with its seasonally driven, ingredient-focused cuisine.

Tinèlle, housed in an impressive 17th-century former convent and military hospital, is the culinary home of Ken Verschueren and Jenny Callens. An evening at Atelier Noun feels like coming home. Here, hostess Sandra Ponchaut and sommelier Siebe Seynaeve seamlessly blend service and atmosphere, turning every meal into a special experience. The real magic happens in the kitchen, where chef Bert Castermans and his right-hand man Lander Faber create culinary masterpieces time and again.
At Nebo, led by chef Dimitri De Koninck, the culinary experience is taken to a higher level. Thanks to a strong kitchen team, the chef now often takes the time to personally present his suggestions at the table, a gesture that greatly enriches the dining experience.
Chef Simon Van Dun and host-sommelier Jonas Kellens lead the experiential restaurant Dim Dining. Here, they continuously strive for evolution and innovation, resulting in an ever-improving score. Their growth and dedication to uniting various Asian culinary traditions, with a focus on Japanese dishes enriched by fusion influences, are truly impressive.

On 8 May 2008, restaurant Nuance opened its doors for the first time. Thierry and Sofie had given the name a lot of thought. Nuance means “fine distinction”, a concept that beautifully reflects their philosophy. To this day, that idea is present in every aspect of their restaurant. First and foremost in the bold flavour combinations on the plate, but also in their love of hospitality, with growing attention to customer experience, comfort, atmosphere and ambiance.

Under the leadership of chef Tim Boury, this restaurant continues to impress and has achieved a higher score for the second consecutive year. With a 19 out of 20 and a fifth chef’s hat, Boury now proudly stands at the top of Belgian gastronomy. This achievement is a wonderful tribute to the entire team, with special thanks to his wife and hostess Inge Waeles, his brother Ben, and top sommelier Mathieu Vanneste, all essential pillars of this welcoming and masterfully orchestrated whole.
