In the heart of Lier, you’ll find Numerus Clausus. Chef Steven Persyn leads with his classic French cuisine, while his wife Annelies warmly welcomes guests, many of whom have been loyal visitors for decades. Thanks in part to its well-priced market menu, the restaurant has earned the lasting trust of its patrons, while the à la carte selection continues to offer a fine array of timeless classics.

 
Lizanna 14/20

Liza and Anna, the two grandmothers who passed on their love of good food, hospitality and warmth to chef Levy De Beucker and hostess Stephanie Iserbiet, inspired the creation of Lizanna. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed and welcoming, inviting you to linger a little longer. The quality of the dishes is outstanding, and the prices are more than reasonable.

Nuance 18/20

On 8 May 2008, restaurant Nuance opened its doors for the first time. Thierry and Sofie had given the name a lot of thought. Nuance means “fine distinction”, a concept that beautifully reflects their philosophy. To this day, that idea is present in every aspect of their restaurant. First and foremost in the bold flavour combinations on the plate, but also in their love of hospitality, with growing attention to customer experience, comfort, atmosphere and ambiance.

Under the leadership of chef Tim Boury, this restaurant continues to impress and has achieved a higher score for the second consecutive year. With a 19 out of 20 and a fifth chef’s hat, Boury now proudly stands at the top of Belgian gastronomy. This achievement is a wonderful tribute to the entire team, with special thanks to his wife and hostess Inge Waeles, his brother Ben, and top sommelier Mathieu Vanneste, all essential pillars of this welcoming and masterfully orchestrated whole.
