A boat is not made to lie in the harbour. It is built to brave the sea. To set a course, make choices, take risks. And anyone who has ever really sailed knows this: the sea is never calm. It tests you. It forces you to steer more sharply. To know your ship. To trust your crew.
During our New Year’s reception on 15/01/2025, we set a clear goal: in 2025, we would stay on course and continue to build growth. Two hours later, reality set in. One of our top four customers went out of business.
From day 15 onwards, 2025 was already going differently than planned. We had come off a strong 2024 and were aiming for 10% growth again. The loss of that customer immediately hit our turnover and we sank financially. February was the weakest month in five years. After two months, we were down 15%. Cash flow was under pressure. Headwinds. Less visibility.
In May and June, we re-established our foundations. Not with grand words, but with discipline, figures and focus. From July onwards, we chose a new course. Next action. Next step. There were moments and conversations when I thought the end was near. Not in a dramatic sense, but as a thought that keeps you awake at night. And each time, the same choice came back. Steer. Forward.
We also made internal adjustments. We raised the bar, as we do every year. We redrew roles and gave opportunities to people who raise the standard. That requires trust. That requires putting ego aside. That requires character.
The last four months have brought results I am proud of. Quality and delivery reliability were at 97% in the last quarter. November and December were record months. Not because it was easy, but because the team put in the hours and kept fighting. We refused to give up.
We closed 2025 with consolidated revenue of -6% compared to 2024. No excuses. Just proof that we have stayed afloat in rough waters and closed the gap. And in the meantime, we continued to invest in the ship. At the end of 2024, we installed new machines and techniques, including spot varnish and squareback staples. In 2025, you got to know them during ten Café Cliché sessions. We don’t do this for show. We do it because precision, innovation and craftsmanship make the difference.
This course has not gone unnoticed. In 2025, we won two awards. That doesn’t happen by itself. It is the result of choices, focus, discipline and a team that raises the bar.
That is why I would like to say this above all else: thank you. Thank you for standing by us as a customer. Through turbulent waters. Through uncertainty. Through headwinds. Your trust is not a minor detail. It is one of the reasons we continue to sail on, continue to invest and continue to build.
No resolutions. Just a promise. We will continue to be unreasonable about quality and results. We will continue to search for new horizons. And we will continue to inspire you, from concept to final finish. Because in a world full of fleeting digital noise, one thing remains constant: physical, high-quality printed matter gives brands weight. Trust. Impact.
