Maximum efficiency, minimal energy costs and exceptionally beautiful printed matter. The LE UV offset printing press is a remarkable piece of high technology that gives us, as a printing company, endless possibilities. But what makes this innovation so interesting for you and your printed communications? And for which projects is LE UV best suited? A brief summary!
Ink drying usually takes a long time. To speed up this process, we use a transparent varnish or powder coating as an extra protective layer on a traditional printing press. With LE UV, this is no longer necessary. The ink dries in a flash. As a result, your printed matter is ready much faster. We can start finishing immediately, resulting in shorter turnaround times and faster delivery times.
In addition, the LE UV printing press uses push-to-stop technology. This means that the press operates almost entirely automatically. Our printers have to intervene much less. We are able to print continuously, which speeds up the entire production process.
The rapid curing of the ink has another advantage: anti-set powder is no longer needed, which also eliminates the risk of ink transfer to the sheets above. In addition, the ink is absorbed much less by the paper. This gives your printed matter much sharper and more powerful colours.
In the past, printing bright images was particularly challenging on uncoated paper. This absorbs a lot of ink, causing colours to lose their intensity. Thanks to LE UV, this is no longer the case. We can now print on tactile, uncoated paper without compromising on quality. This is a huge advantage, especially for projects with lots of photos. Would you like to have a catalogue, art book or photo book printed, for example? Then you can expect unrivalled results. Thanks to LE UV, the images are beautifully rendered and you get printed matter of the highest quality.
At Buroform, we continuously invest in environmentally responsible technologies and materials. The LE UV printing press is an investment that fits perfectly with our vision of sustainable business. LE UV stands for Low Energy Ultra Violet. Unlike traditional UV offset presses, the ink is cured using energy-efficient lamps with a carefully calibrated spectrum. In addition, the technology uses barely 2 cl of washing liquid per plate and, thanks to the standby function, requires up to half the amount of power.
In addition to energy and water, LE UV also saves on paper. The machine replaces, positions and checks its own printing plates. This means that up to 10 times less paper is needed when setting up the press. The waste – the number of sheets that end up as waste during setup – is therefore significantly lower. In other words, we have to purchase much less paper for each order. Given the current price increases, this means significant savings, not only for us, but also for you as a customer.
Offset or digital? Which option is most suitable for your project? There is no clear-cut answer. The ideal choice depends on a variety of factors. Sometimes digital printing is still more attractive. It can be cheaper, especially for small print runs, while still producing excellent results. For large print runs such as books, magazines, catalogues and posters, the situation is slightly different. In these cases, offset printing offers enormous added value for the reasons outlined above. The print quality of LE UV is simply unrivalled!
