Twelve drawings from James Ensor’s ballet composition “La Gamme d’Amour (Flirt de Marionnettes)”, while his brand new book further highlights his offering.
At BRAFA 2025, Samuel will exhibit a special series of drawings from ‘La Gamme d’Amour (Flirt de Marionnettes)’. This lesser-known but fascinating ballet composition by Ensor shows how the artist brought music and visual art together. In collaboration with Ensor expert Xavier Tricot, a monograph has been published that highlights these unique works of art in detail.
A work of art in itself, with a focus on high-quality finish and attention to detail. The paper, colours and textures bring Ensor’s masterpieces to life – a must-have for collectors and art lovers.
Not many people know that Ensor had an innate talent for music. He never took formal lessons, but his sense of melody and composition was impressive. This is reflected in his ballet compositions and paintings, in which rhythm and dynamics play a major role.
In addition to Ensor, Samuel will also be bringing his iconic book ‘Panamarenko Stardust’ to his stand. Designed by Tina De Souter, this book offers a unique perspective on the work of Belgian visionary Panamarenko, an artist who blurred the boundaries between art and technology.
