Brabohoeve menus with hot foil

Hospitality industry printed matter that shows character in material, binding and branding

Have you ever seen a fun caricature of your favourite waiter on a restaurant’s drinks menu? At Brabohoeve, that’s exactly what you’ll find. It’s a playful idea from the agency UNIKAVI – Brand Builders. Together with owners Christophe and Gregory, they have been thinking about the overall experience of the restaurant for some time now. They came to us for the printing.

Printing menus on Wild Green and Materica Terra Cotta

The drinks bible was printed on Wild Green 450 gsm (cover) and MultiDesign Natural White 170 gsm (inside pages), with matt gold foil printing (6129) on the cover and LE-UV offset quadri inside. The finish is anything but standard: yellow thread with an open spine binding, visibly sewn and glued – a bold yet stylish accent.

The menu was constructed from Materica Terra Cotta 360 gsm and Wild Green 450 gsm, finished with hot foil copper and a green elasto binding. The colour choices blend seamlessly with the interior and the warm character of Brabohoeve.

A hospitality identity that can also be expressed on paper.

Paper selection

Brabohoeve’s menus and drinks lists were foil printed on Materica Terra Cotta 360 g/m² and Wild Green 450 g/m².

Materica Terracotta is a recycled paper made from 40% new fibres, 20% recycled fibres, 15% cotton fibres and 25% pure, environmentally friendly ECF fibres, FSC certified. The cotton fibres provide a rough surface and pure cellulose fibres add volume and strength, making the paper durable, which is certainly useful in a catering establishment.

Wild Green is an uncoated, wood-free coloured cardboard with a very soft surface. This type of cardboard is available in five beautiful natural shades and four grammages. Because Wild consists of 35% cotton fibres, this cardboard has a very high thickness and a soft surface.
