Trendy restaurants are popping up like mushrooms in and around Brussels. One of the latest additions to this impressive culinary portfolio is AUM, a vibrant restaurant-bar with an oriental twist that transforms into a lively nightclub at the weekend, driven by sultry Indian beats.
Fine dining, lounging and clubbing: it’s all possible, surrounded by the beautiful interior designed by WeWantMore. The menu is covered with the exclusive velvety fabric “Suedel®luxe”, which beautifully reflects the tactile, glamorous atmosphere of AUM. Suedel® luxe is a product from Winter & Company, which has been covering packaging and book covers since 1892. The elegant appearance of suede leather and the smooth finish give your printed matter a luxurious character. The material is also environmentally friendly: it is REACH compliant and FSC certified. There is even a 100% recycled collection: Suedel®luxe Recycled. Suedel®luxe is available in 26 colours and is ideal for foil, screen printing and offset printing.
The founders of AUM are Maxime Gillet, a hospitality entrepreneur pur sang, and Lucka Wahba, former manager at AB InBev and co-founder of the Japanese-Peruvian restaurant Sanzaru in Woluwe. The two close friends conjured up a so-called “High Energy Fine Dining concept”: at AUM, you can savour the spicy flavours of Indian cuisine against a backdrop of energetic Eastern vibes. The venue is a restaurant, bar and lounge in one and transforms into a sultry nightclub from Thursday to Saturday in the late hours, where DJs transport penetrating Indian beats to the dance floor. We spoke to both founders about the new Brussels favourite and about the menu, which seamlessly captures the unique style and atmosphere of the place.
