This book was designed by graphic designer Tina De Souter for photographer Smith De Westelinck. He created an engaging series of portraits of young girls dressed in colourful retro outfits. The models seem to come from another era, staring apathetically and emotionlessly into the distance. This atmosphere is extended in the design and printing.

Together with Tina and Smith, we opted for a comfortable hardcover with numerous pink details. From the linen cover with hot foil, to the binding thread and headband, to the typography: pink dominates, but in such a subtle way that the whole thing is reminiscent of a sweet girl’s diary.

Another fun fact: the foil on the cover was printed in two layers to achieve sufficient contrast with the texture of the linen.
