For Vic Baron Swerts’ art collection, Buroform realised the second part of a special art book project: Art Book II – “A thing of beauty is a joy forever”. John Keats’ iconic quote adorns the cover and sets the tone for a book that brings together beauty and craftsmanship.
The project was carried out in close collaboration with Karl Maes, who acted as a creative and technical bridge between the client and the printer. Thanks to his many years of experience in art projects, he knew exactly how content, form and material should reinforce each other. Buroform was called in for its expertise in premium finishing and worked meticulously on the choice of materials, colour consistency and production supervision.
Karl Maes coordinated the design process and technical development down to the last detail:
The collaboration was one of trust and expertise, with the shared goal of giving art a tangible form that is both aesthetically and technically outstanding.

For the interior, Buroform chose Magno Satin 200 g/m², a high-quality satin offset paper known for its sublime balance between tactility and image reproduction. The paper offers a soft gloss finish that renders colours clearly, without gloss reflections.
This makes it ideal for art prints: reproductions of paintings and sculptures remain visually powerful, while retaining their nuance. Thanks to its sturdy volume, the book also gives a high-quality physical impression when leafing through it. The reading experience becomes an aesthetic experience.
The cover was covered with luxurious Toile du Marais “Sanguine” (ref TDM035015) from Winter & Company – a tactile linen with visible weave and rich colour intensity. The choice of this specific linen was not purely aesthetic; it reinforces the classic, timeless look of the book and ties in with the art-historical character of the collection.
The warm, deep red colour “Sanguine” evokes the atmosphere of traditional artists’ materials, while the sturdy structure protects the book and gives it character. Linen provides a sensory experience before you even turn the first page.
“Every detail, from the linen to the light on the paper, had to contribute to the tranquillity and beauty of the whole. Buroform understood that perfectly.”
