Art book Luc Morjaeu

So Far So Good combines blind embossing and linen in a sophisticated art book.

For his exhibition So Far So Good, Luc Morjaeu, known for his drawings and comic strips, had a special art book created. Not just any catalogue, but a physical object that reflects his style, sensitivity and character.

Graphic designer Julie Leyers designed a book with respect for material, structure and experience. The grey cardboard cover was given a refined blind embossing, creating a subtle relief. The linen spine adds a traditional and tactile layer to the design.

For collectors, a deluxe edition was created in a linen slipcase with gold lettering – a premium object that elevates the art book to collectible heritage status.

The art book is a collection of Luc’s sketches made between 1987 and 2022. It contains designs, drawings and sketches of comic characters, as well as other “free” work. The works were created for a variety of purposes, such as preparing for an assignment, as an exercise or simply for pleasure. Sketches easily disappear into sketchbooks, never to be looked at again, but with this book, Morjaeu allows readers a glimpse into his past.
