Café Cliché x Colour Class(h)

In September, Buroform hosted the first edition of Café Cliché. Under the banner of Colour Class(h), we immersed fifty creative minds in the wonderful world of colour for an entire evening. And what a success it was!

Café Cliché is a night out for anyone who enjoys a healthy dose of creativity. We regularly organise inspirational events where we focus on printing techniques, paper types and other graphic delights. On 12 September 2019, we opened the doors of this ambitious new initiative for the first time. The theme on the menu was “colour”. What effect do colours have on people? How do they influence our thoughts and emotions? And how can designers make the most of them in their own projects? These questions flowed freely and were answered in bite-sized chunks.

 
Inspiring setting

The venue was the hall of our printing company, which had been transformed into an intimate event space for the occasion. We had built a stage, with several standing tables and stools in front of it. In the centre was a table full of printing inspiration from Buroform, Wibni and Colorplan, the holy trinity around which the evening would revolve. To enhance the conviviality factor, we also provided the necessary food and drink options. A food truck from Le Pain Quotidien supplied a variety of healthy snacks, while Mi vino Su vino, a tasteful side project of our colleague Reshum Van Till, was on hand to quench thirsts.

Café Cliché is a night out for anyone who enjoys a healthy dose of creativity.

 

G.F. Smith and Colorplan colour evening

After our manager Jesse Marynen had added the necessary flair to the welcome speech, Lubos Bisto, International Paper Consultant at paper giant G.F. Smith, took to the stage. He talked about “The World’s Favourite Colour Project”, the largest colour study ever conducted. Our printing experts then showcased Colorplan’s endlessly varied range of papers using case studies, sample designs and more. Business cards, notebooks, presentation folders, covers, labels… our colleagues flawlessly demonstrated the added value of the right choice of paper and printing technique in modern communication.

 

The first edition was a success, that much is certain. It was a fantastic evening in terms of atmosphere, taste, experience and… colour. We look back on it with pride and satisfaction. Here’s to a second successful evening, and we hope you’ll be there too!
