Panamarenko was born in Antwerp in 1940 and passed away in 2019. He was one of the most unconventional artists Belgium has ever known. He built flying machines and spacecraft, and understood the movement of insect wings even before scientists did. His work lies at the intersection of art, imagination and science.

Napura® Canvas Cumin is a heat-reactive material. We weren’t entirely sure beforehand exactly how it would behave with hot foil and heat embossing. So we tested it first. After all, you don’t print a book about Panamarenko on a whim.
The result is a subtle tone-on-tone effect. This creates a tension that fits seamlessly with the artist’s train of thought, as he spent his entire life searching for the intersection between art and science.
