For this direct mailing, we printed 24 unique postcards on six types of paper using HP Indigo. This included a folded A3 map on Arena Rough — a fine example of digital printing at its best.

It will come as no surprise that we love receiving post. Admit it, what could be more fun than pulling a temptingly fragrant postcard out of your letterbox? The nostalgic scent of fresh ink and tactile paper – we love it! We came up with this campaign to bring card writing back into the spotlight, but also to emphasise the – literally – boundless power of paper.
For this striking direct mailing, we created a creative combination of content and materials. The mailing consisted of 24 different postcards printed on six carefully selected types of paper, combined with a clear map in A3 format. Everything was digitally printed on our HP Indigo for razor-sharp quality and flexibility per version.
Thanks to HP Indigo digital technology, we were able to combine small print runs with a wide variety of options, without compromising on quality or finish. Each paper type adds its own tactile and visual dimension, from the natural character of Old Mill to the pearlescent sheen of Sirio Pearl.
At the beginning of this year, a (random) selection of our customers received a mysterious package. A beautifully crafted box containing 24 postcards and 24 destinations, digitally printed on seven different paper qualities. The idea was to choose your favourite destination and send it back to Buroform, accompanied by a funny or inspiring explanation.
We have a suitable and practical surprise ready for each entry. An ideal travel companion that will come in handy both during your preparations and your trip. What exactly? We’re not giving that away just yet!
Paper information and suppliers:
Arena Rough / Arena Smooth White (Fedrigoni): Natural white paper, available in various finishes (rough and smooth). Excellent for printed matter with character and clear colour reproduction.
Old Mill (Fedrigoni): Uncoated paper with a light texture, authentic and tactile, ideal for creative applications.
Sirio Pearl Ice White (Fedrigoni): White, pearlescent finish for a premium look.
Sulphate cardboard (Papyrus): Sturdy, white cardboard with glued layers, provides a sleek look and extra body.
Tintoretto Gesso (Fedrigoni): White, film-coated paper with a fine hammered texture. Very suitable for characterful printed matter.
X-Per Premium White: Wood-free, matt coated paper with high whiteness and good colour reproduction.
